I managed to force feed my albino that has the impaction and I have to say I feel horrible for stressing my little guy out like that. So my question is; How do you force feed your frog that is the least stressful way to do it? Or is there no such thing as a low stress force feeding?
P.S. Repta-Boost smells terrible ...
Here is a how-to video from Big Hydro over on fat frogs forums. I would not resort to this unless your frog will not eat for at least a month and not in aestivation.
The Repta Boost will provide energy so that the frog doesn't become weak while trying to pass the blockage. It also helps to soften the blockage some due to it being a liquid.
As stated by you though force feeding should be a last resort.
The most stress free way to do so is waiting until the frog sheds and while it yawns to swallow insert the food item. Once the frog bites down on it, it will usually eat the food item then continue to shed. This is a technique used by Lynn(flybyferns) for force feeding tree frogs and has had great success. It does work well and even I have used this technique. No stress to the frog. If you are having trouble catching the frog during a yawn just tickle the frog's mouth a little and they will usually open right up.
