To breed them they must go through aestivation/brumation. It is a huge oart of their life cycle. They spend the majority of their life burrowed deep into the earth in a coccoon of shed skin called an epithelial sac. This helps them maintain water and the slow their metabalism way down and live off the stored water and fat during this period of dormancy.
The most important understanding when one chooses to breed Ceratophrys , is, with out doubt, healthy mature animals.
Leave them to the PRO's if you wish, but, by no means allow yourself to fail by in-appempt.
Lol.... I'm not a genius, but wouldn't say I'm dumb either. I had to read your post several times to decipher the meaning Hank...lol
Its better to try and fail than never try at all....got it! Good advice.

to try and fail when it comes to live being i won't say is a good idea, if they brumate improperly they might die. By any means if you want to do it you need to learn TONS and get somebody experienced on board and only then try.
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
