have you ever tried feeding your AB like.. raw meat or anything other then bugs? ive been reading that they can eat stuff like that?
The day I got him
They eat raw meat? Like what?
dunno.. I was reading on a website.. he has got bigger to
You cause use raw meat in a pinch, but it's really not good to use consistently. Remember, they get all the nutrition from the organs and bones, which is obviously not in cuts of meat.
Also, there is no nutritional difference between raw and cooked meat (debated yes), so boiling it at least will take away the risk of your frog getting a ranavirus or worms.
Chicken Livers can be used if you absolutely have to, but they should be boiled first. The liver is the most nutritious part of any animal because all things of nutritional value must pass through it. Don't make a habit of feeding these kinds of foods to your frog if ever at all.
thanks for the help
I know it was a thread on here about a guy on a different forum feeding his 10 year african bullfrogs sausage casing and sausage he fed his cane toads to it on here somewhere
Ceratophyrs and African Bullfrog Keeper For Life
I just read that thread today actually. It's in the Toads forum. I personally would not feed any type of raw or even cooked meat to my amphibians.
edit: Surinam Toads/African Bullfrogs - Reptile Forums
That's the thread.
Ya it sounds kinda unnatural
I was thinking about trying one day .
