About a month ago I started hand misting quite a bit and I think that caused my Leucs to start laying. Every time I finished misting the males started calling like crazy. I have one of those misters that you have to pump up with pressure. There are a lot of tall plants in their tank and I would mist for almost a minute so when I was done there was a lot water dripping down through the "canopy".

One thing I've read quite about Leucs is that they like a lot of leaf litter. Mine like to gather together under a piles Magnolia leaves.

Good luck! It's so cool to have your first batch of Leuc eggs.

    Hi,
Nothing yet --- lots of calling. They are still young. They were just out of the water when I purchased them in Oct 12'
You're right----I don't know what I would do without my 'mist king'.

The mister I'm using is the Exo Terra 20000ml sprayer. I've taught a couple of family members to spray the enclosures at set times during the day when I'm gone.

When I first received my frogs was back in early August of 2012 they were suppose to be 3-4 weeks old out of water but within the first two weeks after I received them the males were already calling.

All this egg-laying caught me off guard. I thought it would one much later. So far I have four tadpoles, four eggs/wriggles, and another five that I hope I didn't pull too early. I've read that when you first see eggs you should leave them for another 24 hours just make sure they get fertilized. I don't know if that is just for D. Leucs or not.

BTW - The second batch I got was a real mess. The first batch was layed inside a cocohut on a Petri dish but the second batch was layed in the leaves. The egg mass was on the top of the leaf an under it and was connected to several more leaves, a total of six. Two went bad and I'm waiting on the other four.
