hey guys, since i did pacos terrarium last week, he has been completely buried under his substrate.
his current temp is at 26.8C and his humidity is at 78%
he also hasnt eaten at all due to being buried, do i dig him out to try and feed him or do i leave him until he is ready to come out on his own?
also i want to get him eating earth worms, what is the best way to feed him these?
Unbury his head so that he can see. Then offer food. If you place crickets in with him just remove the hind legs to make them easier to catch and don't forget to dust them with calcium D3. For earthworms you cut off a piece that is.3/4" to 1" in length starting at the tail. If your frog us a baby then this will be a decent meal. You can hold it infront of him with the tongs to see if he will grab it. If he doesn't then just make a flat depression infront of him and set the chunk down. It will squirm and if he is tempted he should take it, but you may have to close the lid and leave him be. After a few minutes come back and check on him to see if he took the worm.
thanks for the reply Grifcan always count on you

well he is about 2" (i think) in length now so hes quite a good size, but i do feel that he probably should be a bit bigger as he is around 12 months old now. i will try the earthworm tonight then when i get home from work and i will keep you posted.
thanks for the help once again
Yh thats exactly what i thought. The petshop i got him from told me he was about 4months and he was about 1/2 an inch then, but i have also found out that he was hugely malnurished when i got him as all they were feeding him was a pinkie mouse once a week!! Since i have had him he has grown loads, i offer him food every night, the problem is my other half hates crickets so he was eating gut loaded locusts and dubias with every 2 feeds being dusted with a calcium sup inc d3. Thats why i want to get him onto the worms as iv heard nutritionally they are the best thing for him.
But he eats as much as he will take in a 15 min period
Ok. He is stunted, but that doesn't mean you cannot enjoy him. Just keep feeding him well and providing supplements. He will just be a fun sized Pacman.Just follow what I suggested and he should be fine. If he is 2" you can give him a 1.5" chunk of earthworm. Make sure it isn't to thick for him though.
yeah i didnt think he is the size he should be.
i will enjoy him no matter what size he is, maybe he may grow a bit more but he may not. it could also be that the petshop didnt actually know his age and just gave me a quick round the park figure, so he may not be as old as they said *fingers crossed* but they deffinately havent cared for him properly i would say.
i will try him with the earth worm tonight and see how he gets on with it.
thanks for your help again Grif
well i have tried Paco with the worms and he wasnt interested at all!!!
so i tried him with one of the gut loaded locusts that i have for my beardie with a nice coating of calci + D3 and he took that no problems at all.
would a small adult locust be enough for him for 1 feed do you think? as he isnt too interested in the second but i dont want to push him as he hasnt eaten in a few days
they are well gutloadedthey live in their own exo terra tank and have fresh greens and plenty of bran, looks like the worms may very well be going into my garden then :P
yeah ill give him a few more tries with them, if he doesnt take to them after a while then the garden will probably get them. then i might just keep feeding him what he obviously likes its been a nightmare getting him off the pinkie routine tbh as thats what he got used to for so long, but i seem to have got somewhere with him lol
thanks again Grif... time to go to work again now -.-
