Hello all! Here is my ADF story: I starting working at this office a few months ago, and they had two ADFs that were several years old. I immediately fell in love with them, but I noticed that one was significantly larger than the other. In fact, the little one was almost emaciated! Upon watching them closely at feeding time, I saw the larger one eating all the food, and frankly being a bit of a bully to the little one. Concerned, I bought a tank with a divider so they could still be "together" but hoping that the little one might get a chance to eat! All was well for several weeks, and the little one did start to appear a bit larger. Then all of a sudden, I noticed that his legs were bent back the wrong way, and he was having trouble swimming around. Sadly, when I came in to work yesterday, the poor little guy was in froggie heaven, laying with his legs still twisted backward in his little terra cotta pot that he loved so much : (
Anyways, enough of the sob story... I clean out the tank (worried that it may have been something contagious or poor water quality that caused the death?) and took out the divider since it is now just the big guy. He seems to be enjoying himself, but I have read that these frogs are social creatures and I do not want him to be lonely. However, I am concerned that if I introduce a few new ADFs to the tank, he may bully them like he did to his original tank-mate, or worse, that he may try to eat them! Can someone please give me some advice... is it better to keep him in the company of other frogs, or just let him live alone with only his human froggiemomma to stare at while I type away all day?
Thanks!

Pick up an API Freshwater Test Kit to test your water and make sure it's safe for your frog.
Don't worry about frogs being lonely, they are perfectly fine on their own.
By the way if one of your ADF is larger and a bully, he may be an ACF which require a 10 gallon aquarium at least. Does he have webbed front hands? ACF do not.
