Floating plants...

Could you guys please list some of your favorite floating plants for ADFs? Also, should the water level be lowered if I add floating plants? I'm not fully researched on their escape tactics. I keep the water level about 1.5 inches below the top and have a lid. I can lower the water another full 1.5 inches probably before I lose filtration. They have never escaped before but I have never had floating plants in there either. Thank you

Look at Frogbit

Depends on the look you are going for. Frogbit is a good choice and you have several species to choose from. Many pennyworts do exceptionally well as floaters, as will anacharis, water sprite and wisteria (all commonly sold at chain pet stores). But these are actual plants that dow well floating. Depending on your water level, you could also go with water lettuce, but not the pond kind. There is also a plant commonly called a red root floater. Then of course, there is the every popular duckweed. I could go on, bit that should be enough to get you started.

Also, black jungle sells an azolla fern that is a floater/marginal that you may like. And i just remembered that i just received a ridiculous amount of pennywort saturday for another member, but i would be more than happy to send you some. This is what it looks like floating in one of my tanks.
