Has anyone used any version of expandable foam (black pond version, or handi foam etc) and not covered it with bark, coconut etc? I have read plenty of posts about covering it up but I was thinking about using it for some treefrogs and also for a gecko tank and was concerned about not really being able to clean it if it was covered in an organic product. I have never used it for anything so any tips would be great. Thanks
yes, it can be used safely without covering it. it's been done before without any problems. just keep i mind that the regular great stuff is yellow. the pond stuff is black. there is a black great stuff that is fire proof, but i am not too sure about using that, due to the fire retardant chemicals in it. but my gut tells me it is "probably" safe, as long as none breaks off and gets ingested.
