Hi there, i am new to frog owning and i have just bought myself a pac man frog after doing some research and these seemed most appropriate for me. I have some problems/questions that i though i could ask some more experienced frog owners.
My first problem is that i cant can my terrarium above 23c (73f). How could i increase this? A i have a heat mat on the side of the tank (one half below the substrate one half below) the substrate is about 6-8 cm deep (2-4 inch) of coconut husk fibre ( the brick you soak in water for 30 mins or so)
Some other questions are:
Should the substrate be compressed or lose?
How wet should it be because it is damp now but no puddles in it at all ( except the water dish)
How old is my frog ( will display in pictures) its around the size of a ten pence piece or an american quarter.
He does not seem to be very aggressive or ever want to eat. I know they like to sit there and just bury themselves in the substrate and wait for food to walk by but he take no interest at all.
How much should i feed him/her because i have heard various things. The food i have at the moment are wax worms and crickets.
Is my tank too tall? it was the last one they had at the shop so i had no choice in the matter as i it was hard to find this frog in my area.
Also i have some standard moss which i first put in then removed as i heard they could eat it buy accident and it can harm them is this true?
Also does my set up look good for his size? is there any improvements i could make?
Thanks Alex
PS how do you upload photos? and his name is jabba the hut
