Hi, I just wanted to know what the difference between a cranwelli and an ornata (apart from the pattern) because I purchased a cranwelli from an online pet store thinking it was an ornate (it was labled wrong) but I don't mind because it was cheaper than an ornate anyway

ornates grow bigger, majority are more aggressive eaters and adults are
more colorful then cranwelli, but cranwelli have bigger, nicer horns and come in a huge variety of morphs.
congrats on your new frog! pics would be very welcome![]()
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
Hi there
the difference between the cranwell's horned frog and the Ornate horned frog is (colors and size) that the ornate is from Uruguay, Paruaguay and Brazil while the cranwell's come from the chaco region from argentina and looks much like the amazonian horned frog. I really think your lucky to get a cranwell's because they look so much like the wild horned frogs![]()
I not sure if it is a cranwelli or an ornata it's labled as an argentinian horned frog which is an ornate right? But it's also labled as cranwelli, here's a link to the pic from the website http://www.exotic-pets.co.uk/data/images/1522l.jpg
