    Default New to the Frog Forum :)

    Hi everyone! I found this site today while researching informatin regarding my green tree frog, Mango. I suppose I should start from the beginning. About 5-6 years ago I became the proud owner of an African Clawed frog, Marilyn. She later gained a sister and brother, Margo and Marley. Unfortunately I had to get rid of the three of them when I got married to my ex-husband, this completely broke my heart. I now have my green tree frog, which I thought at the time was purchasing a Whites Tree Frog. I got Mango on Black Friday of 2012. He is a very timid frog and I'm quite jealous of you who's frogs sit on their hands. I'm trying to build my frog's trust, but not so sure how well its going. I'm trying to figure out right now if I should get Mango a friend (another green tree frog. He had a brother, Tango, but he passed away 2 weeks ago. Any opinions? Below is my Mango

    Welcome! I love the name, and love pictures of tree frog belly's! LOL! I'm jealous too of people that have frogs that just sit there on their hand or desk or whatever, but only because it would be helpful to have a frog that would cooperate with me when I need to inspect it. I'm always afraid they are going to jump away and one of the cats will get it!

    Tree frogs don't necessarily need companions but if I was you I would have to get another one...or 2. I started with Shrek and Fiona and when Fiona died I was going to get one more and ended up with two more. Every time I go to a pet store I have to stop myself. There is a reptile show in Chicago in April, i've never been to one and I'm excited to go but also very afraid that I'm going to want to bring home a bunch of new kids!
