Lighting for a 29G Vertical Build

Hey folks!

I am in the processing on gathering things for my 29G vertical tank and I would love to know what kind of lighting to use. Where the lights will be sitting is glass and I am not sure if that is going to affect the lighting for the plants or not. Currently I have a Bromeliad that I am going to be planting in the tank and one Copper Lady cryptanthus plant. I was thinking about planting a Pothos or Creeping Fig in my tank though I am leaning more towards Hypoestes phyllostachya ("Polka Dot Plant") for some more color. I would also like to plant some type of fern towards the bottom of the tank...

So...Any suggestions?

you took a 29 and converted it, right? so it's now, what? 18 deep, 12 wide and 24 high?

It's 30" tall, 13" wide and 18" deep now.

lighting will be difficult. if you want florescent, you're gonna have to go with an 18" light, front to back. otherwise a pair of domes with cfl's or led's. personally, with an odd size like that, i would opt for led's. you'll get better light penetration to the bottom. it doesn't sound like much, but 30" is a long way to go for light.

Would the LED Bulb from NE Herp work? Or something similar?

Apparently there is someone in my area that I can find something close to this one, but they are more for saltwater tanks.

they would work. be wary if the led's are for saltwater. those are normally actinic, 10,000k and higher. although i don't think they make an actinic led. but nonetheless, the color temp is key here. 6500k is recommended.
