    Hi there
If you have trouble with heating, i would maybe get a higher wattage lamp and maybe go up in temp by ten watts, before you try that, i woul try putting the heat mat on the side of the cage, the heat mat would hopefully heat up the enclosure a little

    Good luck with your Viv!

Good for you for setting up the tank first and making sure everything is right before getting the frogs. Not a lot of people do that, I hate to admit that I didn't even do that. What kind of heat lamp are you using? If the fixture allows it the first step would be to get the next wattage up. I personally don't like heat mats. They work good for reptiles that need a heat spot, like a leopard gecko, but don't really offer all over heating.

I had the same issue with this, especially in winter I struggled to keep the temps at the right levels. I used a dome fixtured at the top with a ceramic heating lamp and then tried a 40w spot, they got the temps up nice and high, but the problem was it was in one spot and it killed the humidity and eventually all the plants died off. Recently I re-built my tank (will post pics soon) and planted it quite heavily and placed a heating pad on the back of the tank and just use a flourescent globe in the dome and my temps and humidity are perfect. I Also was given some great advice about placing a wall mounted heater behind the tank (on the wall obviously) as this is cheaper to run and more economical and environmentally friendly. I have personally not tried this, but I have a mate who breeds chameleons and he only uses these as his heat source and swears by it.
