Occationally, but you wouldn't enjoy them because you would never see them. They spend much of their life buried deep in the sand awaiting the rains to come. I believe they only briefly surface to feed and breed before burrowing back into the sand. This is for several months that they remain burrowed.

Well, I never see my adult pyxies either i dig them up every 1-2 weeks to feed them and they go right back under until next time. Would it stress them if you provided less area to burrow or kept it moist enough that they didnt need to? I don't have a problem with empty looking tanks when I know what cute is in there hiding.

I'm not sure. I have no experience with these frogs. They are only awake fro extremely short periods of time and it may be difficult to replicate their natural aestivation period since it is a very exteneded period. That being said I am not sure how they may react to captive care and they are most certainly going to be stressed if dug up often. They are very small and fragile too so injuring them would be hard to avoid.

Fair enough Looks like a tomato will suffice. I don't want something that is too fragile as it would be better off in the wild and would feel horrible if it was to pass. Which is the main reason I no longer keep pacs they just have a 0% with me for some reason.
