Hey so people might say its incorrect on what I do but I actually give my frogs about 6 hours at the most of uvb every other day. So I feed and give uvb then turn off and wait till the day after. The light is about ten inches away from my frogs and is a 2.0 tropical uvb bulb. and ive been doing this for over 2 years with my frogs and their really healthy. But if ur frog is a albino do not use uvb at all.

if you have not albino, uvb lamp is not bright and you have hides low percentage uvb is ok. The actual uvb is gone pretty fast from 2.0 uvb lamps, so the amount of uvb your frog is getting is minimal. for those who require UVB I'm usually getting 5.0 and replace every 6 month.
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!

This is acceptable even though UVB in not necessary. 2.0 is really low and has an effective range of about 12" so they do benefit from this. Many Tropical CFLs or regular tube 2.0 are not very bright so no harm done. Except for Albinos this is acceptable.
