    thanks Lija
i will get a cheap lamp fitting and stick an energy saving bulb into it then i thinks to give him more light and not give off any heat.
or would it be more beneficial to get him if i got him like a 2% UVB bulb instead taking into considerartion the MBD that he has got?

checked your other thread, yes he does have mild case of MBD, and you were given excellent advice on supplements, that you should follow. 2% UVB in his case might help to some extend, but you need to get the lowest voltage UVB lamp. With that being said there is no scientific proof that UVB will help pacman frogs with Ca metabolism. Those frogs are adapted to live in a shade and don't need UVB.

Running a UVB bulb is not necessary, but he will benefit from about 4 hours of exposure oer day until the MBD is managed. Be careful with any kind of fluorescent bulb as they are normally very bright and can hurt their eyes. These are nocturnal frogs and they do not get exposed to the sun often down burrowed into the forest floor.

yeah that was my thinking to it all, i was thinking of maybe putting a 2% onto the tank and maybe shading it slightly with the plants to dim down the brightness a little bit, but still give him the exposure

would that work do you think?
