1. So how do these guys really compare to dubia's when breeding? One dubia will give birth once every two months is it the same with these guys?
2. Do you house them the same as you would dubia's with the exception that they can climb smooth surfaces?
4. If i wanted to have a large colony of about 1000 how many should i start out with and how long should it take for me to start seeing some serious numbers?
4. It takes my average dubia 6 months to become an adult from first born. Is that about the same amount of time it takes for your Tesselata roaches to mature?

I dont know if you culture dubia's so i am sorry if i am asking questions that you cant answer from personal experience. I have been very successful breeding dubia's i have thousands of them but I am looking for a larger breed for my larger frogs. I want to avoid feeding warm blooded animals to my frogs so the bigger the bug the better. I have considered hisser's but they are so expensive.
I am very new to these guys so I dont know details only what the lady told me and I read through some posts i found online but very quickly scanned them.
1. these guys take many months according to the lady to produce babys, she said up to 9 months even. Also she said they are very sensitive to stress and will drop their egg clutch instantly if bothered while gravid.
2. exactly the same as dubias, they cant clim smooth surfaces. They may like slightly higher temps then dubias and require dead pieces of wood to aid in breeding, they like to eat it...
3. no idea, as i was told they take many months to reproduce so I imagine you would need a huge # I paid an arm and leg for these guys 5$ ea. Oh yeah their egg clutches are huge 100+ babies when hatched so...maybe if u get a bunch of gravid females??? (them being so sensitive, not sure if thats possible)
4. if i remember correctly the lady said 9 months from baby to adult. Everything with this breed is patience/waiting. I will make a new post when and if I successfully breed them.
