    Default Clyde just ate rubber...

I'm actually pretty shocked and worried about this... I was ring feeding him and he grabbed the tongs and flipped in the air, taking the nightcrawlers and one if the rubber tips off the tongs. Before I realized what had happened he ate it...

I'm honestly at a loss for what to do here... Is there a way to safely endure froggy vomiting? Should I just wait this out, which is seeming like my only option at this point...

Your frog will be fine. Don't do anything special to stress him out. Just let him carry on as usual and it will pass.

I think as Herpguy said, it will pass like an undigested worm.

I was thinking the same.. Just shocked really. Right then I realized the tip came off, it was hanging out of his mouth a bit and he just slammed it down with that look on his face...

There is always a chance something like this could happen. I stopped using rubber tipped tongs for this exact reason. They come off too easy. Definitely keep a close eye on him because its not the same as them passing an undigested worm. This is much harder and has the potential to cause problems. Its similar to them eating a small stick and could cause a blockage.

Now that doesn't mean you should panic, but if he becomes backed up you may want to get and oral laxative from a Vet. As Herpguy said though don't stress him if it is not necessary.

Hopefully everything flows smoothly, we've all got our fingers crossed for ya.

I was actually going to get some rubber coated tongs as I broke my plastic ones the other night. What is a safe alternative than? b/c whsn using bare metal don't you risk injuring the tongue/mouth if the accidentally bite it?

Would a layer of silicone over the tips be any safer?

how about pulling off both of the tongs and then using some adhesive to secure them back into place.

I use metal tongs without rubber tips. Even the rubber tip tongs can cause an injury if not angled properly. I just angle them so that the frog doesn't impale itself on them.

Haha! I have been... Still no tip. He's still eating like a machine though, and his stools are huge, so it's possible I missed it or it'll be coming out shortly...
