Im new to setting up vivariums and Im actually setting up one for orange eyed crocodile skinks. I know this is a frog forum, but you guys have the best information on vivarium/terrariums. Theirs just a couple plants I was curious if they would go okay in a terrarium (making sure their not toxic ect) And considering frogs and such are extremely sensitive, anything that cant go in with them, I'd leave out of my enclosure. So these were the plants I was planning on putting in: (maybe not all of them, but their some ideas to mix and match)
Kentucky blue grass
Bromeliad
Selaginella kraussiana 'Aurea', or golden clubmoss
Cushion/pillow moss
Carnivorous plant (purple pitcher, venus fly trap)
Maidenhair ferns
Peacock fern / white ribbon plant
Pilea involucrata
pothos plant/vine
I had a couple questions on whether these plants were good or not. I went into lowes and saw a couple of these plants, and was wondering if you knew if they were okay or not to put in a terrarium?
-Zebra grass
-Moon drop
-ficus
now, understand, i know nothing about skinks, except that they are really cool looking, but the plants you listed are perfectly fine for a vivarium. although, i am not sure about the blue grass. it may rot in high humidity, and i'm not sure how high you need to keep it for a skink. Carnivores as well, they will be truly dependent on humidity levels. some do well, others, not so good. keep in mind that pitchers do grow tall, but i believe the sarracenia purpurea stays "relatively" small.
ficus is 100% safe. i'm not sure what zebra grass or moon drop are, but when i have a few free moments, i will look them up.

Sorry I don't have the Latin names which would make everything way easier. I had read somewhere that Kentucky blue grass was more hardy in humidity, but if not ill take that out of the picture lol I'm still researching everything. It's my first "live terrarium" so I'm armature when it comes to plants. Lol
I believe the zebra grass is a type of spider grass called chlorophytum laxum if that helps.
the blue grass may work. i have never tried growing grass in my vivs...lol
i think i know the zebra grass. i will look it up and get back to you
