They have to go dormant for 3 months out of the year or they wont survive. Mine is sleeping right now in the fridge with my Hooded Pitcher. Also a Sarracenia. I have a Cape Sundew and a Napenthes ventricosa.
I got the flytrap in late November. It was fairly warm here and then took a cold turn. I wasn't planning on making it go dormant this year. I live in a zone 10 as well. You should post some pics..
