and one of those
Exo Terra : Repti Glo Compact 2.0, 5.0 & 10.0 / Compact Fluorescent Bulbs ?
some parts of the ivy are shaded and its not in a bad way its high up and it has a decent amount of light an its more the fig that doesnt look so clever it has a 7cm long stem of new growth with leaves starting to sprout ?

ok, the heat lamp offers nothing to the plants, but the 2.0 does. the fig and the ivy are most likely still acclimating. i have creeping fig in my 40b paludarium that have been in there 2 months now and still have yet to grow more than a few leaves. some plants acclimate quickly, while others sometimes take more time. if you are seeing new growth, i would ask you try to be a bit patient with them and give them time. they mist lkiely will turn around

Thank you very much for your help, I just read on the exo terra that the day light basking bulb is good for plants :/ so being a newb to the planted tanks I took it for fact :/

you are very welcome. just remember, that the only way to make an incandescent bulb like that give off the proper color spectrum would be with a coating on the bulb, which would eventually burn off. that's why florescent and compact florescent are the standard for indoor plant growing.

Thanks I'll put another 2.0 UVB but your right I looked they have a coating on the daylight bulbs!
