    Default A reverse lazy Pyxie??

    Hi guys,
My two month old, which has been fed on basically every live food going plus 2 pinkies and a fluff and looks and moves extremely well, has decided that unless it moves at the speed of a cockroach or cricket, it isn't worth eating. I am literally having to pull eathworms from one side of the terranium to the other to get him to notice, even though they wiggle right under his nose. Anyone else experienced this?

yes I do mine won't eat nightcrawlers unless he is very hungry and they are in his water and moving well. Try to feed from his water, worms are more active this way. when he was a baby he'd eat anything that even remotely looks like food, but not anymore.

my pixie is also the exact same way....it will rarely react to worms anymore unless it hasnt eaten for like 2 days...reacts best to superworms, crickets, and cockroaches...like lija said about her, mine used to eat everything it could but as it grew up it became more picky

Mine is picky too. Right now, all he wants is hornworms. And those are really expensive and hard to find. If I'm lucky, I can trick him into eating a dubia.

I agree with trying to feed in the water. I use tongs and drag the worm through the water across the frogs front legs, he will usually use his legs to shovel the worm into his mouth. Good luck.

You gotta remember. They slow down a little as they get 4-6 inches. If you fed every day, start going to every other or every three days. Its OK to let them get hungry. I keep crickets roaming in the cage and have been feeding my pyxie male (just decided to name him Monster BTW....I know there are prob like 50 on this forum named that...lol) every three days. He eats like a maniac when he's hungry. Its scary tong feeding....lol

My guy is a vacuum. His growth has slowed down quite a bit but his appetite sure hasn't... My female is super picky though, she'll only eat while she's soaking, that's it
