I'm wanting to know if its safe to use to clean the enclosure . I keep my frogs in a sterlite rack along with a few of my snakes . Its an old homemade rack made from mdf with contact paper covering the top of the mdf . Heated with heat tape on a thermostat . I've been using a diluted bleach solution and letting the tubs air dry to clean but I think the virosan would be safer vets use it as a mouth wash and i think you could drink the stuff and it wouldn't hurt you but I'm not going to swear to that.

You probably could, but I would rinse out the tubs really well before returning the animals. You may place it in a misting bottle and mist lightly in the tubs and let it stand for a few minutes before wiping it out and then rinsing. You don't want any residue left behind.

Virosan is excellent, that is the same 2% chlogexidine solution that is used in vet. practice, that is what I'm using, just different name. It is 100% safe, and is also used very widely in exotic vet. practice for superficial wounds including those in amphibians.
