can a Whites tree frog give worms to.humans?

Hi, I read online that white tree frogs can give Humans tape worms! O_o Can anyone tell me if this is true? Thanks

Maybe if you eat their feces?

I'm pretty sure that is the only way they could give you an internal parasites. Although just like all other frogs and reptiles proper hand washing before and after contact is important because they can carry bacteria like salmonella

Yeah i agree. A tapeworm is an internal parasite. So unless you eat your frog or it's poo, you're safe.

There is a type of parasitic worm that you can catch from contact. I forget the name of this worm but it is common in a few of the countrys I visited in my travels. The worm is passed from human to human in a very weird way. The worm inside the human will climb outside of the anus and lay eggs, the eggs would then be in clothing and bed sheets when another person comes along and sleeps in that bed or handles the sheets the person would breath in the eggs and thus have worms themselves. It spreads rampant in 3rd world countrys because hotels dont wash there blankets and sheets between each guest. I dont know of any other ways this worm is spread may be from water sources or undercooked meat. The only thing i do know about this worm is it is passed from human to human. And it is easily gotten rid of but hard to notice. You can have this parasite for years and never even know it.

With this said I dont think it is spread through aquadic animals but that part i am not sure of. But if the eggs are in the water you sure cant breath them in to easily. Like before mentioned dont drink the frogs water or eat its S***. And as always wash your hands after handling.

All these worms are internal parasites. But I wouldn't think that a frog could even catch a tape worm. Tape worms are HUGE. I have seen one in a jar that was 14 feet long. But the world of parasites is a very scary place and the places they tend to show up can be quite surprising.
