Default Addition to aid water area exit?

Finished my babies tank (for three pyxies) with water feature but now I need to know what to add to aid them in getting out of the water as they wont stop getting in it since they still have nubby hands

Had to put them back in their old tank until I can find a solution to insure they can get out easily.

I thought maybe layer larger rocks up to the edge might suffice but what do you all think?

This is a 29 gallon tall. The water area is 6" high. The substrate is about 5" and the false bottom is 1"
I know, too deep of water hence why I want to add a incline for their safety as well as for looks.

A stack of rocks should work just fine it just needs to be gradual, like a ramp or staircase.

You could probably take a piece of egg crate and silicone some rocks to it, then place that in there like a ramp. You could drill a small hole or 2 into the top of the divider and zip tie it in place and just push coco fiber over the zip ties to hide them. It would make it easy to remove and clean.

My male is huge and he can still get in and out. You have to buy the larg turtle island to support there weight

Rocks make it harder to clean the cage. You want something simple and easy

I used the red and white rock with half a cork round for a while. I found what you see in the pics below at petsmart and another petshop in the turtle section.

I keep the cork rounds as ramps on the land area and have a couple platforms in the water.

Second to last pic is my current setup. Go with bare bottom. Allows the filter to work, and is easy to spot clean.

Sorry I haven't checked back here in a while I've been busy. I went with large river rocks which they seem to love. Now that they can get in and out they never do just chill in the water all day/night for the most part.
It looks like it takes up more room than it does, they still have tons of water area. The one in between the rocks goes in when startled but can get out easily. I made sure the shake the rocks so they settles so no real risk of them moving/getting trapped

I have a heater in there and it keeps it a steady 78-80F

DeeDub I love your setup, what size tank do you use? I plan on upgrading to a 75+ gallon tank for the 3 tank mates or maybe move to 300 gallon for a full viv/terrarium look with a nice big water area in the center like a pond or something. Then I can have all 5 together when adults and have a few more additions.

Sounds awesome. Five together will be a nightmare. You'll need a pool filter....lol.

I use the tetra phauna 40 breeder. They make real nice tanks. Sliding front, drain plug, quality craftsmanship.

They do look like a nice tank! I love the drain, would make a sump system easy as can be. What does one of those run in terms of pricing?

Thought I do wish it has the drain on both sides would make for a great false bottom drain.
