KK, vitamins are very important as well. Frogs can get a deficiency from lack of vitamins as well. Especially if you have not given it to them since you got them. I hate to say it but many of the pet shops that sell these little guys do not take the proper care steps when housing them and they just feed them without dusting them. So who knows when the last time was that the little guys were properly supplemented.
Willow,
Sorry you are still having trouble
How long and how often have you been dusting w/ calcium?

The other thing that I noticed you said that the temp was at 70 and has dropped to 60. I would check and make sure the thermometer is reading correctly. If the temp is infact 60 that is to low for the little guys. You should be around 70 degrees within the enclosure.
They're fed every couple of days and are dusted every time. I am going to buy some vitamin dust from the pet store later. I think it's too late for this little guy, but I really hope the other will be ok. Fingers crossed for both of them![]()
Willow,
I'm so sorry!
There is no herp vet anywhere ? It's such a shame![]()
He really needs a fecal check and likey and antiviral medication such as metronidazole ( which will also help to boost his appetite)
Give him a soak in some unflavored pedialyte ( or it's UK equivalent) w. a drop of honey/ then a rinse soak.
(found in the baby isle at a market) mix it one part pedialyte and 10 parts distilled water
Therapeutic hydration for child dehydration - Pedialyte
Repashy make a 'rescue' product?
Repashy Ventures - Distributor Center
I have used Flukers 'repi-boost' this works very well
Fluker's Repta+Boost Insectavore & Carnivore High Amp Boost at PETCO
Quarantine him / if you have not already done so

The UK is a bit backwards on this I've noticed (I'm originally from the US and had 3 good herp vets near me). The UK currently has more people who own a reptile or amphibian than a dog or cat, but good herp vets (or any for that matter) are few and far between. That's why I suggested trying to find someone who isn't a specialist per se, but is knowledgeable about their care and will see them in their practice (like our vet). I also have friend that lives in Dorset (she and her husband breed corn snakes), she's not a specialist vet, but does the same thing as ours as she has a passion for herps and is knowledgeable about their care.
I hope everything goes okay and your little guy pulls through!
Yes we are a bit, I have asked my vet but they just shrugged me out, they could not care less here. It really is horrible, the frog keeps fitting and tensing, it sounds cruel but I would rather just somehow put him out of his misery. It's really upsetting me, I can see he is in pain and cannot help at all![]()
He died this morningI really need help as to what it is, this is the second frog it's happened to and I don't want it to happen again
