Red face ADF taddies, is this normal?

So I have been going back and forth for the last few months with tadpoles I "rescue" from the frog tank and some live a week, the recent ones died within a couple days.
I have 2 surviving ones from the end of December and the oldest one has "leg buds" and seems to be doing fine except for the fact that I have noticed in the last few days "he" is occasionally swimming sideways or sits still like this.
I knew with the very young tadpoles that if they are unsteady they will die (and they clearly did) and I am just hopeful that maybe little "Junior" is getting used to his changing body?
I have been doing very well with daily PARTIAL water changes (as I do not agree with changing the water 100%) and I can see the little guy actually eating his food and is a very fast swimmer who reacts quickly when I blew in the water to check on him as I was worried.
Any help/suggestions/answers would be greatly appreciated, the last time I posted a question I found the information to be very helpful.

they are doing much better since i upped their water changes/feeding. still waiting for the legs to grow. i know when i first seen the taddies in the main tank i waited a couple days before rescuing them as i was afraid of damaging them with the "turkey baster". i made sure i had a couple leaves in the beta tank i put them in so they had microscopic food to feed off of for the first few days. my recent mistake i think (since i had brand new taddies that all recently perished) was adding an algae tablet in the water too soon and did not change the water frequently enough. my little guys are at it again so something tells me i will get more practice soon enough lol life at its most amazing!

Thank you very much that was helpful! I think I was just freaking out over nothing, for some reason I thought they should have been fully developed by now but it's all good, I noticed today that the biggest tadpole's "leg bud" has separated (I had to REALLy look!) I am super excited and am hopeful these little ones will grow and join their parents! My mother has dibbs on the one as I got her into them as well, so beautiful and relaxing to watch!
