Josh,
This looks really great!
The tattered edge is a great idea.
Not surprised you came up with this !
How did the silicone work with the cork panels ?

i've been lurking this since you started. i've been curious to see where it's going. great idea on making the edges tattered. avoids the whole "bulletin board" look. out of curiosity, why did you decide on processed cork instead of cork bark panels? it's definitely unique

siliconing the panels was easy Lynn.
I went with the panels over bark for a couple reasons. One being price. I was trying not to spend a fortune on the background. This being a big tank cork bark would have been expensive. $5.00 a panel for what i got wasn't too bad but it's going to take about 8-9 panels to do this tank. Also, way easier to attach broms and plants to the cork panel than bark, plus i figure why spend alot of money / time / effort in a background that's not going to be seen much anyway.
I think it's time for another one of those Teezy tips of the week!
We all know how a lot of places charge a lot more for "aquarium" grade silicone. Well I was informed about this place

I bought 3 clear and 3 black and 6 nozzles. You get the silicone for $4 and some change if you buy 12 items. The screw on nozzles are great for when you don't use a whole tube of silicone and the next time you need to use it just slap on a new nozzle.
