it's 1" thick. the sheets came in 12x12x1 size
decided not to build a stand this time and buy a rack to support my future tanks. Lowes, Home depot, or costco don't carry anything 24" deep bakers racks in 4' length in store so I ordered this one. I like it because you can either make it one 72" high rack or 2 seperate 2 shelf units.
Alera Wire Shelving 48" x 24" x 72" Black Anthracite ALE SW504824BA
well the silicone curing is taking awhile as i can still smell it in the tank so it's continueing to cure before i put it on the stand and move it into my office where it will be.
I should be getting a very cool gadget in a few weeks for this tank. Can't wait to unveil it
had to modify the shelf of the bakers rack to accomodate the tank to sit right and for the bulkhead through the bottom. Now off to get some paint to paint the shelf. Should be decorating and planting this week

waiting on a shipment of epiweb branches and then the planting will start

Ooh! I'm getting excited! I'm wondering what the surprise gadget is.
Have you ever used the epiweb before? I'd love to try it.

No but these are branches that will be covered in moss mix
I'll be looking forward to see how they work for you.

got bored so decided to add the substrate and get some springtails going. Messed around with a couple plants too. The stump looking piece on the right is staying, the piece on the left is up in the air depending on what I do with the epiweb branches that should be in sometime next week.
threw a little sheet moss on the stump to see if it will take off there

got the epiweb branches today. Bought one of each size and ended up using the large and small branch to make this setup. Ignore the driftwood its just holding the branches in place until i tack it in

epiweb is in and securing. Ended up tacking it in with a little silicone. Let it cure for a couple days then I will apply the moss mix

just talked to my gadget man and he informed me it will be ready in 1.5 weeks! Can't wait
Josh, the build looks like it's coming together amazingly. I hope to build one half as nice when I finally get the confidence to attack one. You have a talent. I can't wait to see this gadget of yours.
Thanks. This is only the third tank i have built. I enjoy creating the vivs gives me something to do! If my house and wallet would support it id probably have too many tanks if thats possible. Hopefully when my girlfriend finishes nursing school she will by me a big house with a frog room!
My advice for building a tank is just wing it when it comes to decor. I tend to over buy supplies and set them all out and go at it like bob ross

My wife is a nurse and I'm a paramedic. Once the income increases, so does the expense of the hobby. I am working on setting up a frog room. The hobbies get bigger and more expensive. Good luck to her in school. For your third build its pretty amazing. Like I said. Talent. If we lived closer, I'd recruit you for assistance. I'm trying to procure a 40 gallon for cheap. Just waiting to hear back from the guy who posted the ad.
I'll pm ya so I don't hijack your thread.
tossed in some adult giant orange isos just to see some movement in the tank!
