Yes it varies from state to state. some states you need a permit from fish and wildlife some you don't. When you do it can require you to list every species you Will be bringing and if you have something you left out you could be in trouble. I watched a guy i use to help out at shows get hauled away temporarily because his permit didn't show up until we were already in Florida. Had to have his girlfriend emergency fax them or he was going to jail. they are really just starting to hit the smaller shows for taxes. Haven't vended one in two years but the last one i did i never got a tax form. Here in mn. Although the last time i did get one i didn't make a single sale so i just tossed the tax form. I got a letter at tax time from the state if Iowa asking if i made any taxable sales there and i just marked zero and sent it back. Last i ever heard from them. I would really say contact the show promoter. Its their job to inform you of theses things.
