    Default Hi I am new

Just a bit about me. I am 44 years old. Jobless but I am a volunteer Firefighter/EMS. I have been into almost everything. Horses, Showing dogs,Fish breeding, fresh and salt including seahorses. Had 300 bettas at one time. Did it not to make money but cause I like to learn.
I have had many tanks throughout my life. I have also had snakes, really love rosy boas. I raise orchids right now.
Now into frogs and toads. I have a 55 gl paludarium {see albums} I made it from scratch just to see if I could. Not sure what I was going to in it but I found tadpoles in the neighbors pool and I got 20 tadpoles. It was exciting to watch them grow up. I would go and collect afids for them everyday. They got bigger so then I collected termites, they loved these. When they got to big I released them before the weather turned. Turns out I have pacific tree frogs. I released all but 4.
They are being feed by fruit flies and crickets.
My son bought me a Fire belly toad and they have been in the tank for months before I saw this site. I am really getting into the dart frogs and the Red eye but I am in no hurry as I need to find some set ups for the new frogs I will be getting in the future. No money means no frogs right now. Trying to find some tanks for free locally and that will take time.
I am about to start culturing fruit flies and crickets just to see if I have success, If I do my local pet store will buy them from me. If I don't then I learned something new. Well I think that it for now. Thank you everyone for sharing your Frogs and toads.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I am really learning alot here. Can't seem to get off this site....haha. I wish I didn't have to wait for tanks and supply's but no money here til I find a job or sell some of my homemade jewelry. I am hoping to go to the Expo in OR this month, if anything I can go to the one coming to my state. Just to look...

    Default Hi I am new

Us either, lol! You'll notice the same 20 or so people are always on and the rest pop in and out randomly.

    Hi All,
Well, I went to the Wilsonville Expo and was really disappointed. I expected to see more Darts there. It took 30 min just to walk in to the door and pay. People were so packed it was so hard to move around. I saw only 1 red eye and it was $45, I think there was only about 30 (give or take some) Darts. I did not see any real good deals and left about 1 hour. I did manage to get really sick 1 day later. On the way home to Shelton I did find a few free tanks.
I am looking for any free tanks and supply's. I will build the tanks up first so they grow out then get the Darts later. Oh, on a side note I decided to work on my 55 palu. I have learned so much here. I want more space for plants (like some of my orchids), so I am going to take the soil out and build a raised platform but I need more supply's like LECA/Hydroton. Thanks all for opening more doors for my mind to suck it all in. LOL
