    Default Calling Texas Toad

We have had a lot of rain here over the last few days, so I decided to try an experiment. I saturated my Texas Toad terrarium with water and added a large water dish 2 nights ago. Tonight one of my two male Texas Toads (Bufo speciosus) called on and off during the night. It was quite a thrill to see him standing beside the water bowl with his big, black sausage shaped vocal sac sticking out. Of course, it wasn't warm enough to cause much else, but I'm hopeful I can coax them into breeding in April. Fingers crossed .

    "Toadaly Awesome!"

    This is good to hear!

One of my B. nebulifer males has been making partial calls at night since brining them out of the cold room. I have to put up one more sound deadening layer on the warm room walls before I warm them up much more. Picked up a cattle tank today that hopefully will trigger breeding once I raise the temp a few more degrees.

Just what the world needs - more Bufo nebulifer :P. Seriously though, best of luck with them. I'm just a bit worried about what you're going to do with the offspring!
