Ok, Who is excited to see the words "Aurita" and "pic heavy" in the same sentence?? LOL!
After almost two years of searching (and saving), I am finally the proud keeper of a Ceratophrys aurita! Mike from Mike's Phat Frogs managed to find someone selling Auritas. I jumped on the opportunity and I am so glad that I did. They were sold out like four days later! After another few days of tense waiting, my little one arrived this morning.
He/she is so beautiful! The camera really doesn't do the colors justice. He/she has a blend of tan, brown, peach, orange, and an awesome shade of green. I can't wait to see this little one grow! I don't care whether it ends up big or not. I love Auritas because of their incredible range of colors and patterns. I have been hoping for one for so long, now that I have one I am happier than any kid on Christmas! Enjoy!
wow, just WOW! speechless, to say it is beautiful and cute would be understatement of the century, I've never seen anything like that. congratulations go to the proud owners of this beautiful frog and Mike who managed to find it! wow! hope you will be updating pics as it grows. I bet that one is going to be the one of the most spoiled frogs out there.

On a side note the Aurita is now tong trained. It took 2 Waxworms and a chunk of night crawler.
Oh, it's so cute! It's entertaining to imagine just how big it's going to grow in such a short time! It sounds like it's been eating and is off to a great start. Congratulations!!

Pretty cool Grits. Can't wait to see him grow. Are the photos pretty accurate on color?

Thanks

The closest pic to the actual color is the size comparison pic, but there are some colors that just don't quite show. I always find it strange how there are colors you can see with your eyes on the frog, but once photographed you can't see the true colors in the pic.
Bobby pointed out the face that the pattern makes on its back. Pretty cool!!
