I plan on purchasing 3 more toads in the near future. I know that they have a tendency to get aggressive, and I was wondering what the best way was to introduce the new toads to Hugo and Hermes to prevent stress and aggression.

Hi there
if you are buying them from the same pet store, i dont think you would need to introduce them into the tank. for three toads you could use a ten gallon but i would preferr a 15 gallon for three toads because of less stress and FBTs are never terretorial or agressive towards one another.
Good luck with your toads!![]()
ya i wouldnt suggest anymore than 3 frogs in a 10 gal tank. and even in a 15 gal tank 5 toads my be too many. i think the sooner they are in the setup the sooner they will acclimate ive never heard of an introduction type thing for frogs lol
if u r trying to breed them they should be in higher densities but even so i max out at 4 in a 10 galloner for extended periods of time but if u have 2 or 3 in a 10 gallon tank u should have a nice, casual group of these cutiez![]()
I have a 20g viv, and want 5-6 toads. I was just wondering if there was anything special I should do to introduce them. I was hoping that maybe having a higher population will encourage the two I have now to lighten up a bit. Their colour changes have been closely monitored, and I have experimented with everything including air temperature, water temperature, substrate, various decorations, lighting (UVB Vs reg, and different watts). I'm thinking more company is the last thing I haven't tried. Plus I love watching these guys jump around, so I figure the more the merrier.
4-5 in a 20gal should be nice
