This viv is 3'x3'x1' I really wanted it to be as shallow as possible while still allowing appropriate space. The large front glass piece comes all the way off for maintenance. I'm running a four strip t5 for lighting during the day and a single strip blue LED moonlight at night. Mist king. All the plants are very recently planted and unfortunately some suffered frost bite from being shipped in the cold so we'll see if they can come back. All in all I think this viv will grow in nicely I think, fingers crossed. Anyway I just wanted to share, this tank will be home to my auratus and my RETFs, (which are my proven happy tank mates).
Thanks!
What are you using to hold the removable door in place? Is it the only way in or do you have a smaller door on top for dropping in feeders?
No concerns about small feeders making their way between the front door and the lower front fixed piece of glass? (It looks like the door is on risers for air flow)
A nice large front pane really optimizes the viewing, that looks really nice and should be pretty spectacular once it grows in!
That is awesome. I wouldn't even come close if I tried one right now.
Are those all bromeliad on the left in the second picture or is the one that looks like thick grass another plant? The middle front one is a really cool looking one.
I have custom made rigid clamps, i thought the vent gaps inbetween the risers was going to be a problem with my ffs but they really dont seem to be wanting to come out. The front pane is the only access point so I just slip off the clamps and lean the top forward to feed takes about 2 seconds thanks for the comment
Lol, thanks. Those are a species of Tilandsia, whose name is escaping me at the moment. I don't tend to use Broms in my tanks, I like to keep track of eggs and tads. That said I have so many auratus that I think I will let these rear their own young so I may well add a few Broms before the end.
Your tank is beautiful! It's going to look lovely when the plants grow in .
