Wow, a few days ago I moved Jimmy from a ten gallon to a five gallon, and I'm surprised at how well he's adjusted! Some of you may remember that I'd comment from time to time that he would freak out when I moved decorations in his tank around even so slightly. Well now I realize that his tank was probably too big for him.
His appetite has increased so much now that he has a smaller tank. Before he also looked like he was wound up, now he's all laid out. He looks much more relaxed! Before it was a chore to tong-feed him but now he accepts food much more quickly!
Best change I've made for him!![]()
Congrats! Sometimes downgrades are upgrade. Glad to see he's doing better.
that's nice to hear it just makes me remember my baby toad days....
This is why I suggest medium to large critter keepers for babies and juviniles. They prefer smaller spaces because it makes them feel more secure. Smaller enclosures also allow you to easily maintain the climate and minimize fluctuations.
Glad you realized he was stressed and acted accordingly.![]()
This. So when you combine the security along with easier humidity management, it just makes sense he would feel better. And I'll be honest, I knew better... I was jut trying to save a few bucks buying one tank and didn't fully realize I knew better. Unfortunately some mistakes you have to make yourself.![]()
