Pacman Cage set up for Dummies

Ok so ive had my 2nd pac for a little over a month now, hes doing pretty good, however i just purchased the Zoo med automatic mister/humidifier ... with the heat lamp over the cage i think there are interactions with safety here? i plan on getting the humidity regulator shortly as well.... any advice on the lamp? thanks in advance

So far so good. your setup is perfect!, i would make sure that the lamp
is 50waats so it dosent burn his eyes out.

Safety depends on where you have the lamp and how many watts the bulb is. Post some pics of your setup.

First off do you have a baby, juvinile, or adult? Babies and juvies are best kept in smaller enclosures. They tend to become overwhelmed by large open enclosures. Looks like a 20 gallon to me which is too large for a baby or juvi.

If you're using a CFL bulb it is not necessary because they don't need UVB radiation. It is best to use incandescent bulbs rather than CFLs. Your lamp also needs to have a dimmer switch so you can dial the light and heat from the bulb more accurately. Any incandescent bulb should be no higher than 50 watts so you don't harm your frog. Flukers makes 5.5" clamp lamps and 8.5" clamp lamps with dimmer switches.

Do you have a temp gauge and hygrometer? If so they should be located in the center of the back wall 1" to 1.5" above the substrate to get an overall average reading of the enclosure. In one this large you will need gauges in 3 areas for more accracy. Cool side, center, and warm side.

The fogger should flow into the cool side of the tank away from the light or somewhere in the middle. I always place a UTH on the side of the tank which is to be the warm side and have the lamo shine into the middle of the enclosure creating a gradient. Always provide ample cover from the light and cover 3 sides of the enclosure with some static cling natural background for added security.
