Is this FBT sick?

Hey everyone,

My brother owns two fire belly toads and was concerned by one of his toads having a strange coloring. He has one that is rather large and doesn't move much, but his other toad is very active and skinny. He saw red on the frog's legs and asked me to post about it. It is also red on the side of it's abdomen. The other frog is a deeper green and has no red except on his tummy.

1. Size of enclosure: 10 gallon
2. # of inhabitants - specifically other frogs and size differences: 2 FBT, one is skinnier and smaller than the other but they seem to get along fine.
3. Humidity: Not sure, but it has running water in it.
4. Temperature: 79 degrees in the water
5. Water - type - for both misting and soaking dish: Dechlorinated water
6. Materials used for substrate: gravel on the bottom, along with a lily pad and rock shelf to sit out of the water
7. Enclosure set up i.e. plants (live or artificial), wood, bark and other materials: plastic floating lily pad, and rock shelf.
- How were things prepared prior to being put into the viv: rinsed with hot water and dechlorinated water
8. Main food source: Crickets
9. Vitamins and calcium? (how often): Once a week
10. Lighting: the tank lid has a light that is on for 10ish hours.
11. What is being used to maintain the temperature of the enclosure: a water heater and filter.
12. When is the last time he/she ate: Yesterday, each ate two small crickets
13. Have you found poop lately: Yes, but it is hard to tell from which one.
14. A pic would be helpful including frog and enclosure (any including cell phone pic is fine)
15. How old is the frog: not sure, bought last Sunday
16. How long have you owned him/her: Bought last Sunday
17. Is the frog wild caught or captive bred: Captive bred
18. Frog food- how often and if it is diverse, what other feeders are used as treats: Crickets
19. How often the frog is handled: Never been handled
20. Is the enclosure kept in a high or low traffic area: low
21. Describe enclosure maintenance (water changes, cleaning, etc): there is a water filter and we have a scoop to clean poop off the structures. Likely to change it next week (so every two weeks) instead of every month like the guy said to keep smells down.

I own two FBTs with the same situation with slight red on the guy's sides, I wouldnt be worried about it but if its on the legs, i would definatley look at it :/

Yeah...He acts completely normal. I'm going to just tell my brother it is normal for some frogs. If he starts to act sick, he's going straight to the vet. Thanks Bob for the reply!

i would only be worried if it wasnt like that before. my toad has similar coloring one of the reasons i purchased her. So is it a new discoloring or has it always been like that?

It has been like that since last Sunday, no ill effects thus far. I assume if it was red leg it would be in serious distress by now? Thanks!

i dont know about red leg but it seems like a normal coloring maybe it just took a while for the color to come in how old is it?

why is the light only on 10 hours a day? mine go into hibernation mode at 12.5 hours, the light should be on AT LEAST 14 hours a day for these guys
also they dont look overly skinny, with a lot of water males dont eat as much but i'm concerned abt the water heater in the last pic, i wouldnt have that in there unless the water is getting below 64 degrees, anything higher than 72 can stress them out way too much
