Man! that guy could be the mascot for the horned frogs basketball team!
Yeah we thought the same thing, but habits are hard to break! And both of us always referred to the frog as "he" or "him". I don't think she's ever checked for pads, but based on the size of the frog and the the fact that it has never ever croaked in the whole time she's had it, she's pretty sure Diglett's a female. Is there a certain foot these appear on? I had also heard they show up more predominantly during their breeding season, which I'll be perfectly honest, have no clue when that is haha![]()
haha! I told you Diglett was a legend!
I spent the night at my friend's place last year before a reptile expo down south, and the bed I was in was right next to Diglett's Viv. I woke up to find him/her staring at me! I was surprised I didn't get eaten in my sleep![]()
Nuptial pads will be on the outside of each thumb facing the frogs chest. They will be dark brown or black and look like a mole. They're in about the center of the thumb.
This thread shows the position if the pads. http://www.frogforum.net/pacman-frog...ghlight=sexing
Well I had a look at her "hands" and didn't see anything resembling a pad (not that she was cooperative or anything - and yes I got peed on), so based on size and all that, I'm willing to bet Diglett's a female.
She hasn't eaten yet, I've offered her a small mouse and some large locusts, but she didn't seem interested, but she is due a feed, so I'll leave her for a few days and then try again
All hail Diglett.
