You know actually, my old boss was a crazy bad-a$$ about feeder insects (and other odd things), and we would catch native roaches on freezing cold days to be able to toss them into an enclosure inside. We kept hissers, native roaches, 2 large tubs of red wigglers (compost worms), thousands of meal worms, and fruit flies...then the odd things: walking sticks, leaches, micro aquatic organisms, and fiddle backs (far too many for comfort).
