nah, just drop a line in from what i understand. i have seen people who had them mounted above a bucket, so i can't imagine you would need to do much more. i actually have been thinking about trying to build a diy version utilizing a fuel pump for a car. runs off of 12vdc, they run regulated high pressures, so i know they can handle the back pressure. i just haven't decided what make and model i want my mister to be. LOL
