Crickets: Legs or No Legs?

Should I remove the crickets legs before putting them in my frogs vivarium or just leave them as is?

I would think it would be determined by the size of the frog you are feeding. A smaller frog needing to be able to catch a fast cricket,etc. But at the same time I guess it wouldn't really matter as long the frog is able to achieve the goal of eating the cricket.

cut only the jumping legs so that it wont hurt your frog and be able to eat it easily. this is what i do to my cane toad , if there is legs he spit it out

Regarding tree frogs:
It is not necessary to remove the legs off a cricket- if the size of the cricket- is appropriate- for the size of the frog. (That's a mouth full !) When in doubt--- go smaller. Feed them well. All that wiggling gets their attention! They like to hunt , even if bowl fed. It's an instinctive response. They will try to eat anything that's 'moving' . As we know !

I have noted my Agalychnis species do regulate their feeding, however. They establish regular habits. Some days eating all their crickets and some days leaving some. But ....they always grab something. Observation of their day to day behavior--is key !

No as mentioned it is not necessary to remove the legs of a cricket. However, the cricket ( or any feeder) should be appropriated size for the frog. A general rule of thumb : a cricket should fit between the a frog's eyes. Having said that , watch your frog eat. If it seems to struggle, then simply feed smaller crickets.

White's tree frogs will very happily eat crickets with legs attached! Adult White's Tree frogs can comfortably eat large crickets (legs and all) with no problems.
