    Question Possibly A Stupid Question...

Do terrariums/vivariums that don't have false bottoms have a slot you can just pull out to clean the substrate? I know your supposed to put the frog(s) in a seperate holdng tankbut with the gap between the substrate and the door, doesn't that make cleaning a bit awkward?

Nope. If you load the viv up with microfauna (springtails and isopods), you shouldn't need to replace the substrate for a few years.

Isopods are little armored insects. They are also called pillbugs, ball bugs, roly poly's, ect. Them, in conjunction with springtails, will jelp keep your viv clean.

I thought they were plants XD so can I just bring them in from outside or do I get them from somewhere? how many do I need minimum? And youre tellingme that I just get some of these and I almost never have to clean the substrate? will they hurt my frog?

Can you bring them in from outside? Good question. I suppose you could, if you were 100% positive that you were collecting from an area that has NEVER had chemical fertilizers introduced. If you even have a. 0000001% of doubt. Don't use them. Chemical ferts were all the rage back in the 60's and 70's in the U.S., not sure about Canada. I just order them online. I don't like having doubts.
Yes, they are 100% safe for your frogs. Not i, nor anyone else on the forum would ever recommend something that would be unsafe for your frogs

A culture is a combo of growing medium (food) and a place to breed. Remember, they will also breed in your enclosure. Slowly, but they will multiply. The frogs supply their food, you supply them with heat (which you are supplying for your frogs anyway) and they will be good to you and your frogs.

Odds are slim. I have never had them over run a viv. Some invertebrates are weird. They will stop breeding if space becomes crowded. I have seen it first hand with freshwater shrimp.
