Heat lamps are alright provided you use an appropriate power one for the terrarium, and maintain the correct temperature and humidity. I personally never use a heat lamp though - I would go for a heat mat on the side of the terrarium or for a normal incandescent light bulb (or both).
This is were I'm having my problems! Lots of different answers! I finally found a reptile ,Amphibian store! Not many left these days. I got the heater for the bottom.....I did have a bulb that kept the temps around 80 so it wasn't going to dry them out I don't think. But to be safe took care of all of that. I appreciate any info you can give on taking care of these guys. They are awesome and I have learned a lot in the past three weeks since I posted my question.
I have two frogs and have added plants now and would love to go bigger with lots of plants but want to wait and make sure I can handle this first.
