I need some suggestions.. I'm looking for an active tree frog, that isn't too high maintenance. I was looking into RETF and clowns but they sleep all the time LOL
What do you think?
Hi,
I have never had a clown.
A red eyed tree frog will neverbe awake during the day.
( unless it's ill)
If it's entertainment you want, consider D. leucomelas.
They are up all day long! They are easier to care for then red eyed tree frogs.
They are very funny ......they 'think' they're tree frogs!

Actually I can't think of any tree frog that wouldn't sleep all day long
you need to think what is it that you prefer, if you want action - darts would be your bet as Lynn suggested, but you can't handle them, and you need to set up tank properly, same goes to any frog in fact, some tree frogs (waxies, whites) would tolerate handling to some extend, but it still can't be done on regular basis. some tree frogs don't need much of a humidity, thus you need less of equipment around, but all frogs need constant monitoring and maintaining certain parameters of their environment such as humidity and temps.
positive thing is that once you set up tank properly, preferably with timers/controllers, there is not much to do, but to feed, clean and enjoy!
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
