In fact it did look coated with mucus. I know it's a really random thing, but i've personally never heard or seen anything like it. POTM candidate?

Most of the time they do "fart" right before or while pooping. It isn't uncommon to find a gas bubble like this, but they secrete excess mucus for a lot of reasons. Most are harmless.

mucus bubbles are a paranormal activity. kind of like a orb. did you get cold chills when you saw it?
