    Default Fogger or mister???

I was wondering what you guys recommend. I'm trying to keep my humidity under control without having to mist by hand all the time.

i have red eyed tree frogs. I saw a fogger at the store , the zoo med repti fogger terrarium humidifier, any body have one?? Recommend???

or anybody know of something better but that isn't quite so expensive??

I'm a hobbiest. I did all sorts of research and decided on the Exo Terra Monsoon system. I've had it installed for five days and I'm SO FRICKEN HAPPY with it. I didn't have high expectations (read online and you will see lots of unhappy people for various reasons), but I went with it anyways, eyes wide open.

One thing I will say is that I'm super glad i have a watertable in the bottom of the tank, because without the draining capability I'd have one sloppy bog happening in there.

My humidity has been consistent since I put it in, and I could not be happier.

If your looking for a fogger don't waste money buying one marketed towards reptile keepers. Go out and buy a cool mist ultrasounic humidifier ment for personal use at home. The cheep ones here run around 25$ but iv gotten them as low as 8.99. then all you need to do is plumb some pvc piping from the outlet and pipe into your viv. Iv had trouble with the plumbing under .5 inches in diameter. It will condense in the pipe and blocks the mist.

I have been thinking on this debate as well. I currently have one viv and am going to be getting another setup viv with some black and blue darts. I am currently misting several times a day by hand with a spray bottle. I have been leaning towards the Monsoon. Someone told me that you can build your own mister setup pretty easily, but I have never looked into it.

I do know that foggers really dont do much and break fairly easy. they tend to lime up pretty quickly and then loose their effectiveness. I haven't heard too much bad about the monsoon though. You do need a false bottom in your viv to allow excess water to drain from the soil though.

I really dont think it matters but if you're going to breed your frogs, a mister would be a good choice to replicate the natural breeding season.

if you have an amazon prime account then try looking for the monsoon on there. I used the monsoon with a chameleon, and my only issue was with the repti breeze cage allowing the water to bead up and puddle at the bottom.
The fogger does keep some ambient humidity for my bullfrog, but I think the mister would be better for darts.

I'm really happy with my Mist King. The seconds timer is great!
It's misting 5 enclosures w/ out any problems. I would buy another if it broke.
    I do mix the water though. About 3:1 ( distilled : de-chlorinated)

Thanks everyone. I just find that my house is very dry during winter months, and now that Ive added a sun glo light on my terrarium, i lose humidity faster.

I think I might also try the cool mist ultrasounic humidifier first.. and if ever that doesnt work... i might look into the other ones!
