your method of heating?

Im in the same boat myself. I have UTH but I really don't see results with them. I am using a lamp (50w) to heat my tank and I have to mist as well due to its drying out the substrate. I had to get a bit "MacGuyver-ish" and made a humidifier but the substrate acts as an insulator and heats to well over 100 degrees.

its good to know I'm not the only one, even though its unfortunate. my problem is not being able to get it hot enough, my 40 watt ceramic only puts it around 70, and its sitting on top of the tank
