Viewing Light + humidity (African Bullfrog)

Hello there, I currently have an (African Bullfrog) setup in a exo terra glass vivarium! it has a mesh lid like most do.. and doors and vents at the front. I have the temp were i want it but my humidity is low. However, it only gets low when I turn on the Viewing light which also is a product from exo terra (canope) how can I keep high humidity 75-80% while having the light still on during the 12hr cycle. thank you.

Ps. the water was cleaned about 4 hours before but due to him jumping in it appears dirty

You can try covering up some of the screen with plexi or glass or plastic wrap. Cover some, check the humidity a few hours later and adjust as needed. It will take some trial and error, but you'll get it. Probably just in time for him to go to a new home....lol

the only reason I dont like these enclosures is because it has too much airflow.
try covering the top screen with saran wrap first to see if that helps. if you still have low humidity then you may have to consider covering the bottom vents.
even if you cover the top with plastic there are still vents on that black strip on the bottom of the doors.
maybe if you had a glue gun you could try to cover the vents with the glue.
make sure you take your animal out and let the glue dry properly.
this is just a suggestion. I have an exo terra 18X18X24 and I finally gave up on humidity and put a leopard gecko in there.

just out of curiosity, which is your hygrometer, the digital on the back or the analog on the side? i only ask because analog hygrometers are notorious for being inaccurate.

the digital one.. evertyhing is good when the light on top isnt on so i guess i could just leave it off as its no real biggie. I do have a happy frog tho.

maybe you can put a lamp near the cage and set that on a timer to create a day and night cycle?
