    Default What's this? Regurgitated worms?

Found this on my feeding rounds this evening ... dead worms in a pile ... I moved them a bit from where they were before this pic was taken.

Did he regurgitate his worms? Or could it be undigested worm he pooped? I don't think it's the latter, as I found some true poop I think the day before.

He didn't want to eat tonight.

Any ideas why this happened? Is there anything I should do for "treatment"?

Looks like when my snakes have regurged worm before. Maybe there was something nasty in the worms that needed to come out? If you still have the container that he was fed out of last, give it a sniff. I've opened mine up and smelled what was definitely e.coli in them before. He looks pretty bloated in that pic. Was he just puffing up because he was annoyed? If not, give him a soak and see if that helps.

Hopefully it was just bad worms or something disagreed with him. I don't know what you'd do if it was something more serious. But give it a couple days and see if he seems any better.

I agree with DV here. Something was either wrong with the worm or your frog has an infection or parasite. Sometimes if the meal was too large they will regurgitate it, but they normall spit it out before swallowing.

have been there with my rescue frog and agree with both DV and Grif - provided that conditions are good and clean, worm was alive when eaten, i strongly suggest to do a fecal exam for a start.
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!

    Thanks all for the responses.

A little bit more info: I had dipped one end of the worm into some calcium supplement, not sure if that had anything to do with it or not, as I've done that many times before. The frog did have a solid poop the day before. I just got a bulk shipment of worms recently, in a styrofoam box (kept refrigerated). There is no strange odor and they smell "normal." All my pacman frogs got worms from this from the past few days and he is the only one that had any issues and only the last feeding.

I will monitor him and see how the next few days go. Hopefully this is a one time thing but if not, I will get a fecal exam done. I have not wormed any of my frogs.

Edit: the worms are DMF worms (which is the brand sold by Walmart) -- frog safe. He showed no interest in eating again tonight.

Grif is rite I buy the same worms and I never had a problem with them. So I do suspect that there is an intestinal issue going on. Quarantine that frog asap and then see a vet . Also sterilize everything you use in between cages
And the cage he's kept in
